Aiming at mid-range market, LG has bought full touch handsets to the masses, LG KP500. It is popularly known as the LG Cookie. The LG KP500 Cookie is only 11.9mm thick, which apparently makes it the thinnest phone around with a tucked in stylus. It's more compressed and easier to use than some of the pricier touch screen phones, yet it still has a large 3 inch display. Simply press the essential buttons on screen using your finger. The LG KP500 may be reasonably priced but not at the cost of style.
LG KP500 Cookie
LG KP500 Cookie has borrowed its design from LG Renoir. It is available in black, silver and even pink. It uses the latest re-embodiment of the proprietary LG Flash-based UI. The LG KP500 is not a high-end device, but once again its feature pack is itemized for affordability. The KP500 does not support 3G, but there's quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE for a true world-wide use. It also has a 3 mega pixel set focus camera, but there's a 3-inch wide touch screen display with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels to jab around. A microSD memory card slot, stereo Bluetooth, FM radio and an accelerometer for auto screen rotation and gaming completes the count. An effective landscape QWERTY keyboard and office document viewer are also there.
One more new thing found about this LG Mobile phone is that the video recording is not as exciting as that of some other LG camera phones. Here you only have QVGA video at 12fps. It weighs only 89 g. It has a feature that assists Handwriting recognition.
LG KP500 Cookie Features
It comes with a WAP 2.0 Internet browser which allows the user to use their favorite web sites to buy new ring tones as well as using the Internet to find out helpful information. An email service allows accessing their email account from the main menu to create, send & receive emails on their. You can also create, send & receive SMS text messages or MMS multimedia picture messages. The MMS service allows the user to enjoy sending & receiving messages complete with a picture or video clip which is an easy way to share experiences with other like-minded contacts.
Despite of the fact that, it not in the same club as iPhone, the cost makes the Cookie give good competition to iPhone. As the LG Cookie does not aim the same market as the iPhone, a feature- by -feature evaluation would not be reasonable. But LG KP500 does come with a decent touchscreen, and has pictures scrolling very similar to iPhone. Just like iPhone you can use Bluetooth, which can be used to transfer data effectively. It is smaller than iPhone in size. Another phone that LG KP501 Cookie beats in pricing is Nokia 5800. A disadvantage here could be that it does not support WiFi and the touchscreen, though good, is not as great as iPhone.
Now going on to the networks supported by this phone, the LG KP500 Cookie cell phone supports quad band GSM 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 networks so this phone can be used almost everywhere. You can also use mobile Internet by using its GPRS and EDGE data network. These networks are not that fast as G3 networks but by its WAP2.0 browser as mentioned above, the KP500 still gives you a great Internet knowledge.
However, inspite of so many features, which are very beneficial for the consumers, some users have various accusations on LG KP500 Cookie. Some said the LG KP500 Cookie restarts every now and then while other said that it is not sturdy. If you're willing to give LG KP500 Cookie a try, then that is completely up to you.
